Incentives Matter, Even for Cyclists!
It's amazing how fast one can pedal a bike when a storm is bearing down on you. A small group was out for a typical Monday recovery ride, when we noticed black clouds in the horizon. We watched them closely, and when it became apparent that the front was heading directly our way, we aborted the ride, and time-trialed back to our respective homes as fast as our legs could carry us. By the time I was in shouting distance of home, the wind was gusting up to 30 mph. I'm happy to report that everyone made it home safe and sound.
