A Theory of Who Wins in the TdF

Mark Cavendish (pictured left) is currently the best sprinter in the pro peloton. He has a simple and highly plausible theory (quoted here in BikeRadar.com) to explain why stage races seem to have become more boring, but more competitive, in recent years - the reduction in doping:
"The doped guys used to be the ones who would ride away at the end of stages. Now everyone’s f**ked after 80 kilometres and it’s the one who’s least f**ked who wins."
